What is whey protein and health
benefits ?
What is whey protein?
Whey is an all-natural
by-product of milk during cheese production. Approximately 20% of the protein
in cows’ milk is made up of whey. During the industrial production of cheese
and curd, milk goes through a structured process which includes pasteurisation,
inoculation and incubation before rennet extract is added. The addition of
rennet extract assists the coagulation of milk and separates it into curds and
whey.
Whey protein is a good source protein and best supplement
for some good reasons. It is high in nutrition and has many benefits for our
health. Whey protein only works this only when person also take natural diet.
Whey protein has less risk of health disease. Whey protein is in powder.
Here are some health benefits of whey protein:
Good source of high
protein: Whey protein giving all of the necessary amino acids. It is easy
digestible as compared to other kinds of protein powders. Whey protein powder
comes in three types, such as concentrate
(WPC), isolate (WPI), and hydrolysate (WPH). Concentrate is commonly used
by people and has reasonable prices. Whey protein is very popular in
bodybuilder and athlete who need additional protein in diet.
Growth in muscles: whey protein helps in muscles growth due to strength with
the consumption of protein supplements and high protein food, Whey protein
supplements only give good results when
you are taking high protein food too. Whey protein provide amino acids which is
known as leucine. Leucine is the most growth promoting of the amino acids. Whey
protein is good in muscles growth as compared to others protein such as soy or
casein.
Build power and good in performance: The benefits of non-specific protein
supplementation on resistance training exercise performance and post-exercise
adaptations have been outlined in a large meta-analysis study of 22 trials.Based on data from 680 participants, the combined findings
showed not only a 0.91kg increase in fat-free mass but also a 20.7kg greater
increase in 1 rep max single leg press strength.
Lower Blood Pressure: A
high blood pressure due to hypertension is one of the leading risk factors for
heart . Many studies as shown that whey protein decrease stress on body. Whey
protein, one of the main proteins found in milk, may modestly lower blood
pressure, according to a small study in the December 2016 American journal of
clinical nutrition.
Whey is the liquid that's left over after milk is curdled
and strained to make cheese. Evaporating this liquid creates whey protein
powder, a supplement popular among athletes and bodybuilders for building
muscle mass (despite insufficient evidence for this claim).
Help Reduce Inflammation: Inflammation
is part of the body's response to damage. Short-term inflammation is
beneficial, but under certain circumstances it may become chronic inflammation
can be harmful, and is a risk factor for many diseases. It may reflect
underlying health problems or bad lifestyle habits. A large review study found that high doses of whey
protein supplements significantly reduced C-reactive protein (CRP), a key
marker of inflammation in the body.
Antioxidant Defenses: In our body Antioxidant act against oxidation,
decreasing oxidative stress and less the risk chronic diseases. A most antioxidants in humans is glutathione. However
most antioxidants we get from the diet, glutathione is build by the body. Glutathione
manufactures depends on the supply of several amino acids in our body, for
example; cysteine,
